Luuka District Local Government has issued a stern warning to staff at Kiyunga Health Centre IV against charging patients for medical services, emphasizing that such practices are illegal and will attract disciplinary action.

In a letter dated January 30, 2026, signed by Mukama Gideon, Incharge of Kiyunga HCIV, the district government expressed concern over reports that some community members were being asked to pay for services that should be free.

“We have received complaints about community members being charged money to receive medical attention, and this practice is illegal,” the letter stated.

The directive orders staff to immediately cease all extortion practices, warning that any violations would lead to disciplinary measures.
